Some of the most coveted Swarovski crystal figurines and sculptures are those which are created for members of the exclusive Swarovski Crystal Society. The Swarovski Crystal Society (often abbreviated as SCS) was created in 1987 in order to bring together admirers of fine crystal from all over the world. Members enjoy access to exclusive events as well as other unique opportunities to enjoy the company of fellow crystal enthusiasts and collectors. In addition the society has offered a number of exquisite figurines which are only made available to society members. There are four categories of SCS figurines and sculptures - annual editions, limited editions, commemorative editions and jubilee editions (also referred to as Swarovski anniversary editions). Swarovski jubilee editions are issued every 5 years to celebrate the birthday of the Swarovski Crystal Society.

The production of Swarovski Crystal Society limited editions is restricted to 10,000 individually numbered crystal sculptures (except for limited designer editions which are limited to only 1,000 pieces). In addition a lottery is held for society members and only the lucky winners of this lottery are allowed the privilege of purchasing that year's SCS limited edition. Swarovski annual editions and jubilee editions on the other hand are only available for a year before being retired but are made available to all society members during their year of production. Swarovski commemorative editions are an exception to the society's usual rules as they are made available to all collectors whether they are a member of the society or not.
