Lundberg Studios Art Glass

For over 4 decades Lundberg Studios has produced some of the finest art glass that the world has ever seen. Lundberg Studios was founded by glass artists Steven and James Lundberg in San Jose, California in 1970. Originally named Nouveau Glass, the two brothers changed the glass studio's name to Lundberg Studios in 1973 when it was moved to Davenport, California where it remains to this day. The art glass studio soon became well known for the exquisite beauty and unique designs of its iridescent art glass. Over the ensuing years Lundberg Studios produced many types of items including glass paperweights, vases, lamps and perfume/scent bottles. However the studio is most renowned for its singularly beautiful world weights, which are glass representations of our planet with its continents and oceans portrayed in stunningly accurate detail. They even include detailed cloud formations for an added touch of realism!

Lundberg Studios World Weight

Sadly the studio was struck with tragedy when James lost his life as the result of a bicycle accident in 1992. Steven Lundberg continued his work at Lundberg Studios until 1997 when he left to form his own personal studio in Santa Cruz, California - the Steven Lundberg Glass Art Studio. In 2002 he created Steven & Justin Lundberg Glass Art, a partnership with his son Justin, after receiving a diagnosis of Lou Gehrig's disease. The father-and-son team collaborated together until Steven's untimely passing in 2008. Justin has since developed his own unique style and still creates beautiful art glass at the studio that he and his father co-founded. Lundberg Studios continues to forward its original artistic vision under the guidance of James' wife Rebecca Lundberg, who is a very talented artist and glassblower in her own right. She proudly carries forward with the artistic ideals set forth by the Lundberg brothers when they founded their namesake studio. Lundberg Studios currently employs a number of talented artists including most notably, longtime artist Daniel Salazar, all of which contribute their own unique visions to the artistic works produced by Lundberg Studios.
