Lladro Black Legacy Collection FigurinesIn 1990 Lladro introduced an African-American themed series of figurines entitled the Black Legacy Collection. This figurine collection proved to be quite popular with Lladro collectors. The most famous figurine in the collection was Lladro's porcelain representation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (#7528). Lladro also issued a group of 6 jazz musician figurines as part of the collection which were well received by collectors. The group consisted of Jazz Sax (#5833), Jazz Bass (#5834) and Jazz Horn (#5832) which were released in 1991 and Jazz Drums (#5929), Jazz Duo (#5930) and Jazz Clarinet (#5928) which were issued the following year. Lladro issued numerous other figurines as part of the collection including a series of angel figurines - An Angel's Tune (#6490), Heavenly Dreamer (#6491) and Your Special Angel (#6492). Another popular series consisted of young ladies in elegant gowns - Sharia (#6180), Velisa (#6181) and Wanda (#6182). And yet another featured young children in their sleepwear - My Cuddly Puppy (#6463), Who's There? (#6464) and Bedtime Prayers (#6465). Some of the other figurines from the collection feature a family theme. Some of the most popular examples of this theme are A Moment to Remember (#6815), Family Roots (#5371) and Daddy's Little Sweetheart (#6202). Collectors worldwide revere Lladro figurines for their unique styling and graceful design. The Lladro Black Legacy Collection is a testament to the skill and artistry of Lladro's artisans!
