On May 25th the Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art in Nashville, TN will debut an impressive exhibition of Dale Chihuly art glass. It’s entitled “Chihuly at Cheekwood” and will be open until October 31, 2010. The large exhibition will feature a number of art glass sculptures and installations on display throughout Cheekwood’s botanical garden, in various ponds and in the Museum of Art and Frist Learning Center.
Here are just a few of the exhibition highlights:
- A 30 ft tall yellow neon sculpture entitled “Saffron Tower” in Cheekwood’s Herb Garden
- A garden of glass in Cheekwood’s reflection pool
- A 15 ft tall radiant yellow orb entitled “Sun” on the Museum of Art’s front lawn
- Two of Chihuly’s breathtaking chandeliers
