Newark Ohio Gallery To Host Sam Drumgoole Art Glass Exhibit

The Works Gallery at The Works Museum in Newark OH will feature an exhibit of art glass by nationally known glassblower Sam Drumgoole starting Friday, Jan 28.

The opening reception for the exhibit will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the gallery. Admission to the reception and exhibit is free.

“Sam Drumgoole: Redemption” is the title of the exhibit, representing what Drumgoole calls “rebirth, deliverance and reclamation.” The exhibit, which will continue through March, will feature a variety of Drumgoole’s hand-sculpted and blown art glass, as well as his two-dimensional reflective works.

On Feb. 6, Drumgoole will present a lecture and demonstration from 10 a.m. to noon. He also will demonstrate his glassblowing skills at Cocktails by the Fire, an annual fundraising event at The Works from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 6. Preregistration is required for both events.
