This is certainly great news for workers affected by the current economy and for Longaberger collectors! The Longaberger basket company has recalled 50 basket-makers that the company laid off in February. The workers were called back due to the huge demand for the new NFL and collegiate-themed baskets that it recently introduced. The baskets feature the names, colors and logos of all 32 NFL teams and several universities including Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Indiana University, University of Iowa and Virginia Tech with more universities on the way.
“Given the challenging economy we’ve faced in Ohio and across our country, we’re more than happy to be putting people back to work,” said Chief Executive Officer Tami Longaberger, in a statement announcing the rehiring. Workers returned to their jobs this week.
