Dino Rosin is renowned worldwide for his beautiful and strikingly unique art glass sculptures. Dino was born in Venice, Italy in 1948 and soon afterward moved with his family to the island of Murano which has been well known for glassmaking for centuries. Growing up in a region with such a rich history of art glass manufacturing must have had a positive effect on him as he began an apprenticeship at the Barovier and Toso glassworks at the young age of twelve. Three years later he went to work for Artvet, a glassmaking company owned by his two brothers, Loredano and Mirko. For over two decades he plied his trade and continued to perfect his skills, turning out increasingly unique and captivating works of art.
In 1988 Dino Rosin moved to the United States to teach glassmaking at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington with his brother Loredano and noted glass artist, William Morris. All the while he continued to perfect his technique of creating exquisite art glass sculptures. One of the primary components of Dino’s breathtaking style is his utilization of the ancient technique of “calcedonia” coloration. This method of coloring glass leads to each piece having its own unique coloration. Dino’s exceptional skills in conjunction with this age-old technique ensure that each piece he creates is truly one of a kind. Many of Dino’s distinctive art glass creations are on display in numerous art galleries around the world.
