Touchstone Glass is a family-owned glass studio owned by Cathy and Steve Richardson. Cathy Richardson is a noted glass artist and her paperweights and marbles are prized by art glass collectors. Cathy does the design work and is helped with the creation of the pieces by her son Colin. Colin also designs and creates his own pieces. Steve Richardson does the majority of the cold work.
Cathy sums up her philosophy as follows: “Glass, like water, is a very fluid and dynamic medium. It can contain, surround, and magnify objects, creating magical effects to delight the eye and fascinate the imagination. Using these properties, I am able to create beautiful, dynamic designs that are full of life, inviting you to look again and again into my world. The beautiful three-dimensional environments in my paperweights and marbles express my meticulous attention to detail and life-long love of nature.”
