Seth Parks is one of the more innovative glass artists working in America today. He specializes in glass chandeliers which makes him rather unique among contemporary glass artists. It also places him in rare company with Dale Chihuly, the world-renowned glass artist famous for his studio’s stunning art glass chandeliers. Seth draws great inspiration from nature and it shows in his glass creations which typically exhibit a transcendentally beautiful and flowing organic style.
Seth’s love of art and blown glass began at an early age. Upon finishing high school in 2003 he sought out a glass artist in his area who gave glassblowing lessons. With his first lesson Seth realized that he had found his passion in life. Making the decision to focus on glassmaking he continued his education, first at the Snow Farm New England Craft Program in Massachusetts and subsequently at The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY. It was here that he worked with some of the most respected glassblowers in the world. Following this he further polished his skills while studying at Penland School of Crafts and Pilchuck Glass School.
Seth opened his studio in 2004 and his highly creative and innovative approach to the glassmaking process has captivated admirers of fine art glass ever since. He primarily creates custom commissioned pieces and his dazzling chandeliers, sculptures and sconces are continually in high demand.
