March 17, 2010 – Orrefors crystal stemware has been chosen by the U.S. State Department to grace the dining tables of 400 American embassies and ambassadors’ residences throughout the world. The Swedish stemware will be embellished with the seal of the United States.
Company spokesperson Eva-Marie Hagström said, “We are very happy and proud to have won the contract. We are hopeful that this prestigious order will boost our international sales – especially in the USA. We won the contract for our design but they were also interested in our lead-free products and environmentally-friendly approach to glass making.”
The Orrefors glass foundry is famous worldwide for their beautiful crystal, art glass and stemware. The specially designed glass series is based on a classic Orrefors model created by Gunnar Cyrén and has been given the name Jasmine.
