In 2002 Lladro created a series of figurines entitled “The Klimt Collection”. These Lladro figurines were inspired by abstract artist Gustav Klimt. This collection consists of several figurines including Bird Of Paradise #18119, Cadence #01872, Fountain Of Life #06993, Peacock #18118, Yearning For Happiness #06992 and Expecting Mother #18139. The collection also includes “The Kiss” which was offered in two very different versions – #01871, the original version, which was issued in 2002 and #18204 which was issued in 2006.
The most notable and valuable figurines in the collection are The Kiss and Cadence which were issued in 2002 as limited edition figurines. Each of these figurines had its production limited to only 1,000 figurines. These two figurines are also notable for their size as they are both quite large. The Kiss measures 24-3/4″ x 26-1/2″ and Cadence measures 33-3/4″ x 16-1/4″.
All of the figurines in the Klimt Collection were designed to replicate the style of Gustav Klimt’s paintings. For this reason they are very unique and have proven to be quite popular with Lladro collectors.
