Huge Four Day Antique Auction To Be Held In Evansville Indiana Jan 28-31

Sohn & Associates of Evansville, IN., will conduct a four-day auction to liquidate the three-generation collection of Dr. and Mrs. Marc Wall of Rockmart, Ga. The auction will be held from Jan. 28-31, 2010. The auction will begin each day at 10 a.m.

Highlights of the auction include:

Approximately 100 lots of cut glass including vases, pitchers, punch bowls, compotes, decanters, dresser pieces, bowls, candle sticks and other pieces. Many of the pieces are signed.

Over 100 clocks including garnitures, mantels, shelf, wall, and tall case clocks, two of which are Tiffany. The clocks are from French, German, English, and American makers.

A large selection of German, French, English and American porcelain will be up for sale, including compotes, vases, bowls, garnitures, candelabras and boxes. Selections of Herend porcelain and Wedgwood china, including crimson pieces, will also be offered for sale.

Royal Doulton items will include character jugs, figurines, flambé animals and other pieces. And Doulton and Doulton Lambeth pieces signed by Hannah Barlow and George Tinsworth will also be available.

Art glass by Tiffany, Loetz, Steuben and contemporary studio pieces will sell to the highest bidder. Lamp selections include several fine miniature lamps, slag glass table lamps, and Corday figural lamps.

A wide array of antiques and collectibles will be offereed for sale including perfumes, bronze pieces (including a pair of Tiffany candle sticks), tobacciana including a Majolica and other smoking sets, Meerschaum and briar wood pipes, miniature sewing machines, desk sets and inkwells, and sterling silver tea sets.

For those interested in Orientalia, more than 200 pieces will be offered, including fine cloisonné, carved ivory including netsukes (many signed), snuff bottles, figures, fine carved jade pieces, and Sumida pottery pieces.

A huge collection of Cybis porcelains, most with boxes, will be offered to the public, including Moses, Nefertiti, Cubels, Arien, Pegasus, Pip, Eskimo Boy, Yankee Doodle, Free Spirit, Gombol and Frolee, Cupid Head, Unicorn, Madonna, Oceana, and many more.

This fine sale will include 1,200 cataloged lots. The first hour of each day will consist of quality, un-cataloged items, with the online cataloged items beginning at 11 a.m. each day.

Online bidding will be available through Live Auctioneers. Online sales are subject to a 15 percent buyer’s premium, plus actual shipping and handling.
