Gallery One Expands Their Gallery To Include Seven New Artists

Gallery One in Ocean View, Delaware has expanded its gallery to include seven artisans who work in the disciplines of pottery, weaving, fiber landscapes, glass jewelry and digital artworks. Their works will be featured through the end of December. Adding fine crafts to the gallery of paintings and sculpture enhances the space and gives the public a full range of art.

Beautiful art pottery by Carmela Coleman and Wes Stack are on display. Coleman’s sense of fun is seen in whimsical creatures that she forms with clay. Her functional pots are wheel thrown with elegant glazes and lovely details that might include leaves, shells or other representational shapes for handles.

Wes Stack masterfully creates raku and fire reduction pieces that have elegant shapes and finishes. His bowls, plates and wall hangings are stunning sculptural works with exciting metallic and oxidized surfaces.

Jill Thomas is a fiber artist who creates intricate landscapes out of small pieces of fabric. Jill has a formal background in art with a BFA from Syracuse University. Originally a painter Jill has moved into her current art form with a love for color and pattern. Her work is amazing intricate in details and reads clearly to the viewer of each venue she creates. Jill is showing lovely framed pieces of sights such as Santorini, A Cornwall Harbor, oriental gardens and botanical. She also has prints and note cards available

Deborah Lewis-Idema is also a fiber artist but she weaves her fabric and makes wearable art. Her fabrics are woven with a side variety of fibers such as cotton, rayon, chenille, silk and the new eco-friendly fibers of tencel, bamboo and soy. At Gallery One, she is showing scarves, jackets, vests and purses.

Fay Kempton creates breathtaking glass jewelry. A retired interior designer, she works in several media. Like her paintings the jewelry is colorful and beautifully finished. At Gallery One she is showing a full range of jewelry for men and women. She also makes lovely sun catchers.

Robert and Diane Heron are a married couple from Scotland (Robert) and England (Diane) and are award-winning photographers who work with digital software. All their work is created with their original photographs and then they use an electron pen and pad as a brush and canvas, printing each work on archival surfaces with archival inks. Their work is available framed and unframed.

Gallery One is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week except Christmas Day. The gallery offers a wide range of art classes.
